Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 11, 2026

Introduction

Clevis AI, Inc. ("Clevis AI," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your data. We believe that farmers should own the information generated from their farming operations, and our privacy practices reflect that belief.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the Clevis AI platform, website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). This policy is designed to align with the Ag Data Transparent Core Principles established by the American Farm Bureau Federation and agricultural industry stakeholders.

By using our Services, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our Services.

Our Commitment to Farmer Data Rights

Before getting into the details, here are the principles that guide everything we do with your data:

  • Your Data Is Yours. Farm data you provide to Clevis AI remains your property. We do not claim ownership of your farm data, and we will not sell or broker your individually identifiable farm data to third parties.
  • Consent First. We will only collect, access, and use your data with your explicit consent. We will not collect data outside the scope of your consent or awareness.
  • Transparency Always. We will clearly explain what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and who (if anyone) we share it with. No surprises.
  • You Control Your Data. You can access, export, and delete your data at any time. We will never hold your data hostage or charge you to move it to another platform.
  • Security Is Foundational. We protect your data with industry-standard security safeguards against unauthorized access, loss, destruction, or disclosure.
  • AI Transparency. We will clearly disclose if and how your data may be used in connection with artificial intelligence or machine learning models, and you will have the ability to opt out.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, farm or business name, and billing information when you create an account or subscribe to our Services.
  • Farm Data: Information about your farming operations that you input or upload, including but not limited to: field boundaries, crop types and varieties, planting and harvest dates, yield data, soil test results, input application records (seed, fertilizer, pesticide), financial records and budgets, equipment information, and any other operational data you choose to provide.
  • Communications: Information you provide when you contact us for support, submit feedback, or communicate with us through any channel.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our Services, including features used, pages visited, time spent, and actions taken within the platform.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, browser type, screen resolution, and unique device identifiers.
  • Location Data: With your permission, approximate location data from your device. We may also derive location from field boundary data you provide. You can disable location services in your device settings at any time.
  • Log Data: Server logs that may include your IP address, access times, pages viewed, and referring URLs.
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate our Services, remember your preferences, and understand usage patterns. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

Information from Third-Party Sources

With your explicit consent, we may receive data from third-party services you choose to connect, such as precision agriculture platforms, weather services, market data providers, equipment telematics systems, and accounting software. You control which third-party integrations are active, and you may disconnect them at any time.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • Provide and Improve Services: To deliver the features you use, including AI-powered crop planning, market analysis, financial tracking, and farm management tools.
  • Personalization: To customize recommendations and insights specific to your operation, region, and crop types.
  • Communication: To send you service updates, respond to support requests, and (with your consent) provide agricultural insights, tips, and product announcements.
  • Security and Fraud Prevention: To protect your account, detect unauthorized access, and maintain the integrity of our platform.
  • Analytics and Research: To understand usage patterns and improve our Services. When used for research or analytics, data is aggregated and de-identified so that it cannot be traced back to any individual farmer or operation.
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes.

Use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

Clevis AI uses artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to power many of our platform features. We believe in full transparency about how AI interacts with your data:

  • AI-Powered Features: Our platform uses AI to generate crop recommendations, market insights, weather-based advisories, and other analytical outputs. These features process your farm data to provide personalized results.
  • Model Training: We may use aggregated, de-identified data to train and improve our AI models. Individually identifiable farm data will not be used for AI model training without your explicit, informed consent. You may opt out of contributing to aggregated training datasets at any time through your account settings.
  • Third-Party AI Providers: We may use third-party AI service providers (such as large language model APIs) to power certain features. When we do, we ensure through contractual and technical safeguards that these providers do not retain, use, or train on your data beyond what is necessary to deliver the specific service requested.
  • AI Limitations: AI-generated insights and recommendations are tools to support your decision-making, not replacements for professional agronomic, financial, or legal advice. We encourage you to use AI outputs as one factor among many in your farming decisions.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your individually identifiable farm data. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • With Your Consent: We will share your data with third-party platform partners, agronomists, or other service providers only when you explicitly authorize the sharing and choose what data to share.
  • Service Providers: We use trusted service providers to operate our infrastructure (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery). These providers are contractually bound to use your data only to perform services on our behalf and to maintain appropriate security measures.
  • Aggregated and De-Identified Data: We may share data that has been aggregated and de-identified such that it cannot reasonably be used to identify any individual farmer or specific farming operation. This data may be used to generate industry benchmarks, regional trends, or research insights.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before such disclosure unless prohibited by law.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you of any such change and any choices you may have regarding your data.
  • Safety: We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that it is necessary to protect the safety of our users, the public, or Clevis AI.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: You can access and review the farm data and personal information stored in your account at any time through the platform.
  • Data Portability: You can export your data in standard, machine-readable formats at no cost. We will never charge you to retrieve your own data or penalize you for moving your data to another platform.
  • Correction: You can update or correct your personal information and farm data through your account settings or by contacting us.
  • Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Upon deletion, we will remove your personally identifiable information and farm data from our active systems within 30 days. Some data may be retained in backup systems for up to 90 days, after which it will be permanently deleted. We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., billing records, fraud prevention), but only to the minimum extent necessary.
  • Opt-Out of Aggregated Data: You can opt out of having your data included in aggregated, de-identified datasets used for analytics, research, or AI model training through your account settings.
  • Marketing Communications: You can opt out of promotional communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in any marketing email or by updating your communication preferences in your account settings.
  • Cookie Management: You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may limit functionality of some Services features.

Data Security

We implement and maintain industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of your data. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest (AES-256)
  • Role-based access controls limiting employee access to data on a need-to-know basis
  • Regular security assessments and vulnerability testing
  • Secure cloud infrastructure with leading providers
  • Incident response procedures and breach notification protocols
  • Employee security training and background checks

While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you become aware of any unauthorized access to your account, please contact us immediately at [email protected].

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you Services. If you close your account or request deletion, we will delete your personally identifiable information and farm data as described in the "Deletion" section above. We may retain aggregated, de-identified data that can no longer be attributed to you indefinitely for analytical and research purposes.

Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

We will post the updated policy on our website and update the "Last Updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will provide prominent notice through the platform or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
